In Titus 3:1-2, the Apostle Paul reminded the Christians in Crete to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men even though the authorities and rulers at that time were hostile toward Christians.
The reason is because they were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another but when the Saviour Jesus Christ appears, they were justified by His grace and become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. It is not by the work of righteousness of men but it is by the mercy of God.
Therefore, as we look at our government, we will continue to obey the word of God by subjecting ourselves to rulers and authorities and we are always ready to do good works, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.
